Cut-outs to lifestyle imagery for collectable pottery firm
Moorcroft Pottery were one of our first ever clients some 20 years ago & I also did their photography for 10 years before that with my previous employer. Needless to say I am very grateful to them for their continued business and support.
We get asked to complete location photography for them at their factory in Burslem and at events like the Chelsea Flower Show, Tatton Park etc and of the staff making and decorating on site. Most of the photography though is done in the studio. As you see here it ranges from cut-outs to lifestyle imagery. The clean, cut-outs are usually placed on a graduated background and used in the newsletters & the yearly catalogues they produce. There is nothing to distract from the lovely designs, colours and tube lining making these images a great selling tool. Most of the other product images here try to evoke the ‘feel’ and history of Moorcroft. This is done by using some of the many backdrops and props we have here at the studio and by using more creative lighting.
How it works – we get an email or phone call telling us what is wanted, a purchase order number is raised, the ware is either dropped off or collected, we photograph as instructed, images are emailed to the client and then the ceramics are collected. That’s it, simple!
