Spotlight on Product Perfection for Burleigh and Poole Pottery

In recent years cut-out photography has become very popular. Images look clean and bright on websites and on social media platforms. In fact if your products are being shown on third party websites or publications, they will very often ask for a ‘cut-out’.

Unlike when I started my career in photography when products were heavily dressed, with this kind of image there is nothing to distract the eye. The photography needs to be on point!

The examples here are not the most complicated we have ever done, but are a fair representation of the kind of images we are asked to produce most often. They are well lit, bright and very easy for the buyer to see exactly what it is they are ordering.

These images were captured at our Stoke studio recently for Burleigh Pottery and Poole Pottery who we have worked with for many years.

Whether it is ceramics like, electronic components, or confectionary the process is the same. The items come into the studio, we discuss what is needed and quote for the work. We then do the photography and supply the images as high resolution jpgs (unless told differently) via WeTransfer. All images are supplied with a ‘path’ so that they can be lifted from this backdrop and placed on another easily if needed.

Once full payment is received we give full copyright with each image, we do not think it fair to expect ongoing payments for photography into the future.
